During the healing stage, your lips are an open wound and need to be cared for properly for best results.
Continue to follow these guidelines for at-least 5- 14 days or until all flaking has stopped.
Day 1-2: CLEAN
-One hour after your appointment, gently blot lips with one of the provided antiseptic wipes
-Later, use one wipe before bed on the day of your appointment
-Use one more wipe the next day (Day 2)
-Reapply balm after every time you use a wipe
Days 1-7: HYDRATE
-Reapply healing lip balm as needed to keep lips moisturized at all times.
*This should be a thin layer of balm everytime. Do not overapply.
Days 1-5+ (Until flaking has stopped): AVOID
-Drinking any liquids without a straw
-Spicy foods or biting into food that will cause stretching of your lips. Use a spoon/fork until lips have finished healing
-Vaseline or Neosporin on lips
-Vaping or smoking anything until fully healed
-Kissing anything until fully healed (no partners, kids, or pet kisses sadly)
-Toothpaste on lips, no whitening/peroxide products-
-Swimming, saunas, hot tubs, baths, pools, beach, and lakes
-Makeup and skincare at-least one inch from lips
-Direct water in shower, minimize the amount of water on your lips (I -will provide you with shower shields to help with this)
-Excessive sweating and exercise
-Sleeping on face
-Touching lips with unwashed hands
-Activities with airborne debris like dusting, mowing the lawn, or riding in open air vehicles like boats or convertibles
-Facials, botox, or chemical peels
-Strong skincare with Retinol or Acids
-Picking, scratching, peeling, or rubbing treated area
-Direct sun exposure for two weeks (apply sunscreen to lips after they are fully healed for longer lasting results)
-
*The healing process may vary between each individual. This is an example of the expected healing process. Some guests may heal quicker, slower, or may skip the flaking/ghosting phase entirely. This depends on factors such as age, overall health, skin type, and lifestyle.
Days 1-3: Bold and Dark
Lips will be tender with some swelling and redness. They will appear 30-50% more vibrant and bolder than the healed result.
Days 3-7: Flakey and Patchy
Lips will begin to fade as the pigment settles. This is when scabbing/flaking occurs. 90% of our clients do not have scabbing but more so a "sunburn peel" type of flaking. Lip color may appear patchy and too light in spots, this is all apart of the process. Your lips may feel itchy and tight during this stage but please do not scratch or pick at the flaking. You may apply more balm to your lips for relief.
Days 8-30: Frosty
Lips may appear too light and have a “frosted” look. After all the flaking and peeling, your lips are still recovering. This can be due to the natural exfoliation of the skin and the healing process. The true color of the permanent makeup lips will “bloom” and gradually resurface over the next 2-3 weeks.
Days 14- 40: Color Returns
Your lips are almost fully healed! You should see the color start to return and reveal the final result of your initial appointment.
Week 6-12: Touch-Up Time
Once your lips are fully healed from the first session, you will come back to touch-up any areas that are uneven and tweak the color and saturation level if necessary. You will be able to request adjustments if desired. After that, you will repeat the healing process and enjoy your lips for the next 1-3 years.
*Some guests may need an additional touch-up due to factors such as improper healing, skin type, underlying scar tissue, ect.
